Seeking funding for lighting upgrade

Council is seeking external funding for a lighting upgrade under the 2024/2025 Country Football and Netball Program through Sport and Recreation Victoria.

The existing lights at the AE Cracknell oval are a metal halide lighting solution and provide less illumination than what is desired under current Australian Standards.

The proposed upgrade will include energy efficient LED lights (which use approximately 40 per cent less energy than metal halide lighting) and will meet current standards which will allow for safer conditions for training and games.

The new light fittings will include ‘spill shields’ to direct illumination and manage light spilling outside of the playing area.

The project is currently unfunded.
