Thank- you for taking the time to provide your feedback.

ANZAC Memorial Park in Hurstbridge will undergo a refurbishment.

Nillumbik Shire Council in conjunction with the RSL proposes to plant a Lone pine at the ANZAC Memorial Park.

Since Gallipolli, the Lone Pine has been a powerful symbol of remembrance to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in one of the darkest hours of our nation’s history. The planting of the tree is to complement the new Hurstbridge memorial wall, and the tree will become a living memorial, in line with the purpose of the space.

We propose that the ageing playspace on site be removed to ensure that the Lone Pine can be placed in a safe and respectful location.

Council and the RSL recognise that this is a well loved meeting space and that the site holds significance to the residents of Hurstbridge with a long history as a memorial site.

We will provide a summary of your feedback in coming weeks.

Please refer to our concept plans below for ideas around the use of this space.
