Thank you to everyone who provided comment on Nillumbik Shire Council's draft Bushfire Mitigation Strategy in August and September 2018.
All submissions received were considered at the Future Nillumbik Committee meeting on Tuesday 16 October 2018.
Following initial feedback on the draft strategy, Council engaged the services of Former Emergency Management Commissioner for Victoria, Craig Lapsley, to undertake a wide-ranging review of our emergency management function, including our Bushfire Mitigation Strategy.
A revised Draft Bushfire Mitigation Strategy has now been developed, taking into account community input, as well as the Emergency Management Future Directions report that Mr Lapsley prepared for Council.
Members of the community are invited to give their feedback on the draft strategy between Wednesday 1 May and Tuesday 28 May 2019. The revised draft Bushfire Mitigation Strategy can be downloaded here. There are also hard copies available to view at the Diamond Valley Library, Eltham Library or at Council’s offices.
Written submissions can be made until 5.00pm on Tuesday 28 May 2019, and will be considered by Council in June, prior to finalisation and adoption.
Submissions can be made:
- via the electronic form below
- lodged in person at Council offices, Civic Drive, Greensborough
