During December Council ran a Shop Local and Christmas Campaign to share festive greetings across Nillumbik.
It was a Christmas like no other after a truly difficult year due to COVID-19.
Various departments were involved to bring our festive program to the community and businesses alongside the Shop Local campaign.
We are now seeking your feedback on this campaign which launched on 1 December 2020 to understand which elements you enjoyed and where we can improve so we can continue to deliver festive campaigns that align with our community values.
Christmas in Nillumbik 2020 included community led events and activities which were funded by Council through the Festive Grants program. These grants were made available to Nillumbik businesses, groups and residents, encouraging locals to come up with a festive activity that embraced;
- Community goodwill
- Spirit of hope
- Shopping local and
- Celebrating together in different way
The program was assessed by a representative group of community members - the ‘Festive Folk Group’
The campaign also included a unique design and festive trimmings that were installed across the municipality including Eltham Town, Diamond Creek, and Hurstbridge Village business precincts.
‘Shop in our Shire’ was the key message to visitors and locals with supported initiatives.
