To drive Council’s ongoing commitment to act on climate change, we are preparing a new Climate Action Plan.

We are seeking feedback to help us better understand the Nillumbik community’s priorities for responding to climate change, including:

  • your level of concern about its impacts
  • thoughts on climate targets
  • what actions Council should prioritise in responding to climate change
  • what the Nillumbik community can and is already doing to respond to climate change

This survey will help guide the development of the new plan, which will outline what Council will do to reduce its carbon footprint, build resilience and adapt to changes in climate, while working with and supporting our community to do the same – together achieving meaningful climate action.

Please take the time to complete the survey, telling us what matters most to you and your ideas for what more can be done. It will take approximately 10 minutes.

The survey is now closed.

By filling out this survey you’ll be helping to inform the development of the draft Climate Action Plan 2021.

Mid 2021 we’ll show you the draft plan and give you the opportunity to provide feedback.

If you register your contact details with us we’ll let you know when the draft plan goes on public exhibition for comment.

This will be our third climate plan, and will build upon the achievements of our current Climate Change Action Plan 2016-2020.

A phone survey of 400 people who live across the Shire of Nillumbik is being undertaken, covering the same questions as the online survey.

This will help us to also hear the views of people who wouldn’t normally go to the Council website to answer a survey; and of people who are representative of the cross-section of age, gender and geographic demographics of Nillumbik
