They will help us shape our final designs for the Coventry Playspace.

Background:

Nillumbik is home to over 60 outdoor public play spaces. We are committed to enhancing the lives of children and their families by improving our play-spaces. Play spaces are prioritised and identified as part of an annual program to fund the renewal and upgrade of these valued community assets.

Coventry Playspace in Diamond Creek has been identified as part of the playground upgrade budget to receive funding in 2019-20 to create a new play and social space for our community.

What will the works include?

  • Scooter loop
  • Half-court basketball
  • Basket swing
  • Accessible pathways
  • Landscaping

The site will complement the existing precinct including Coventry reserve oval, Diamond Creek skate park, Diamond Creek outdoor pool and Diamond Creek Trail. It will provide a junior skate opportunity which is a currently identified gap in our Shire. The scooter loop will be a first of its kind within Nillumbik Shire and has been designed by leading industry experts in playspace and skate design, Playce. Playce were also responsible for preparing the Lifetime Play Strategy All Ages Play Framework which informs the development of all playspace designs.
