Building a better understanding of bushfire risk

The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) has now seeked input from local communities on decision-making about bushfire management.

Nillumbik residents are encouraged to take part in the survey and contribute to the collective knowledge and experience of Victoria more broadly. The feedback will be used to:

  • Improve how DELWP engages and communicates about bushfire risk
  • Develop a range of bushfire risk measures that are more meaningful and useful to communities
  • Inform the development of DELWP’s whole of sector bushfire strategy

DELWP wants to understand what you care about most, what you think are the most effective ways of managing bushfire risk and what type of information is helpful in supporting your understanding.
