Taking climate action
Edendale Community Environment Farm’s focus is on Connecting community with nature; encouraging lifelong Learning about caring for the environment; and Leading in our own environmental choices, actions and behaviours. Living with climate change will be an important part of Edendale’s Connecting, Learning, Leading focus.
One of the many initiatives in Council’s Climate Action Plan is to investigate whether Edendale can also become a community climate action hub.
Collecting the thoughts and ideas from our community is an important part of exploring the concept of a Community Climate Action Hub and what a Hub could do to help community mitigate emissions and adapt to climate change.
Being a climate action hub would be an additional Edendale service to the community and would complement existing services like the indigenous plant nursery, the school’s environmental education program, sustainable living workshops, farm experiences and events.
