Hurstbridge Streetscape update

Council and Cr Egan would like to thank all residents who were involved in the Hurstbridge streetscape discussions.

Following feedback from hundreds of residents, we’ve adjusted original plans presented last year and are now confident that we’ve reached the best outcome for the community.

Changes include retaining the Swamp Mallett, resulting in a reduced area of landscaping and footpath around the tree and planting of Kurrajong (Brachychiton populneus) on the opposite side of the road. The Kurrajong is native to Victoria and performs well in street environments.

Works will begin on the streetscape enhancements following this year’s Wattle Festival and will be completed before Christmas.
