The Legislative Council’s Environment and Planning Committee is seeking submissions to its inquiry into the adequacy of the Planning and Environment Act 1987 and the Victorian planning framework with limited public hearings programmed in the first half of 2022 and a report to be tabled on the Inquiry in June 2022.

The Terms of Reference (TOR) for the Inquiry is very broad and far reaching including:

a. The high cost of housing;

b. Environmental sustainability and vegetation protection;

c. Delivering certainty and fairness in planning decisions for communities;

d. Protecting heritage in Victoria;

e. Ensuring residential zones are delivering the type of housing that communities want; and

f. Any other matter the Committee considers relevant.

The Parliamentary Inquiry is open to anyone who would like to make a submission. Submissions closed 31 January 2022.
