Background:

Council is committed to enhancing the lives of children and their families by improving our play-spaces.

Nillumbik is home to over 60 outdoor public play spaces which span the Shire.We understand the importance of quality outdoor play spaces which provide opportunities for children to engage with the natural environment through cognitive, creative, physical and social types of play.

Play spaces are identified and prioritised as part of an annual program to fund the renewal of these valued community assets.

Woodridge Linear Reserve and Yarramie Park were identified as a priority for renewal based on recommendations from current audits and inspections.

The designs that have been developed are informed by Council’s Lifetime Play Strategy All Ages Play Framework.
