Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the draft Urban Tree Canopy Strategy 2024 -2040

Urban trees and shrubs play a significant role in creating liveable neighbourhoods and increasing the health and wellbeing of communities and our environment.

Nillumbik’s draft Urban Tree Canopy Strategy provides a fifteen-year strategic framework that will help us achieve our vision to protect and enhance our urban tree canopy.

These urban areas, on average, have a tree canopy cover of 39 per cent; the second highest average tree canopy cover in all of Melbourne. The draft strategy aims to protect and maintain this level of canopy cover and to identify opportunities to support more canopy in areas that need it most.

We’ve heard that our community love and value trees in Nillumbik and want to protect them. You can read more about what we’ve heard here.
