Consultation has now concluded. Thank you for all your feedback.
Submissions will be presented at the Future Nillumbik Committee meeting on 13 August.
Council values the Shire’s rich local culture and heritage as expressed through the arts. As such, we actively collect contemporary and modernist artworks of excellence and dynamic public art.
In delivering on the Council Plan 2017-2021 and the Arts and Cultural Plan 2018-2022, we can now present the following important pieces of work to you for feedback and input:
- The Draft Art Collection Policy and Curatorial Guides (based on a review of the former Nillumbik Shire Art Collection Policy 2014-2017);
- The Draft Public Art Policy and Implementation Guidelines;
- The Regional Gallery Feasibility Study as the first step towards housing our extensive collection, to provide a hub for the local creative industry and generate cultural tourism.
Although we understand this is a lot to consider, all these pieces of work are integrally linked and important in being able to support our arts community and to continue to build our community celebrating our rich artistic history.
