Thank you to the community who provided their feedback about a possible off-leash dog park.

During this consultation phase we identified a community need for a designated off-leash dog park in Eltham.

As a result and thanks to a $275,000 grant from the Victorian Government’s Local Parks Program, the construction of the new Eltham North Dog Park is expected to start mid 2021 and be complete by September 2021.

Situated in Dansey’s Paddock, between Wattletree Road and the Diamond Creek Trail in Eltham North, the new space will cater for a designated off-leash dog park, in particular for the many dog owners who live in walking distance to the park.

Despite space challenges we have managed to add additional carparks to support the park, including accessible parking.

Our specialists park designers are working under Melbourne Water guidance and this includes indigenous planting throughout.

The dog park will be linked to the Eltham North Adventure Playground via a trail running next to Diamond Creek and the new carpark.

A broader parking plan for the precinct, including the school, playground, and Eltham North ovals is being developed by Council to support.

Traffic management will be in place for the duration of these works and as such there will be some impact on road users. We apologise for this in advance.

There are currently two other designated off-leash dog parks in Nillumbik:

  • 28 Main Hurstbridge Road, Diamond Creek (See map)
  • 12 Arthurs Creek Road, Hurstbridge (See map)
