Council thanks the many hundreds of local residents who participated in this extensive community consultation process. Council at its Tuesday 1st May meeting agreed to sell only three out of 17 parcels of land it was considering selling. Council has also agreed to rezone 12 of the sites from Residential to a Public Parks and Recreation Zone to protect the sites from any future sales.
The decision was made following extensive consideration of the views of submitters and as a result of Council’s successful advocacy efforts to secure State Government funding to support the construction and upgrade of a number of much-needed sporting and community assets.
The three sites to be sold are:
18A Citriodora Court, Diamond Creek (to abutting land owners)
303 Plenty River Drive, Greensborough (to the preschool lessee)
251-259 Yan Yean Road, Plenty (remnant road parcel)
